Is your pre-teen/teen wild about computer programming and looking for something new?   CGCC, in coordination with local hackerspace Workshop 88, is offering a one day workshop on Arduino programming.

Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments. Arduino can sense the environment by receiving input from a variety of sensors and can affect its surroundings by controlling lights, motors, and other actuators. Arduino projects can be stand-alone or they can communicate with software running on a computer

The class will held at Workshop 88, located at 481 N Main St. Rear Building Unit B, in downtown Glen Ellyn, IL.

Open to ages 11 and older.  The cost of the class is $11 per participant.

Please note:  All participants need to bring their own Arduino kit to the class.  Click here to purchase from Amazon.  Approximate cost is $32. Please allow enough time for shipping so your kit arrives in time for the class.  Also, if your child has his/her own laptop, then he/she should bring it to the workshop so that the environment can be downloaded.  If not, other arrangements will be made.
