Scratch Day

Scratch Day is a global event initiated by MIT for people who enjoy Scratch to get together to learn more about Scratch and create with Scratch. At Scratch Day - Chicago, we have sessions for students who already know Scratch as well as sessions for beginners. We also have sessions for K-12 teachers or any other adults who want to learn Scratch and techniques for teaching with Scratch.

 

Scratch is a programming environment created by MIT and introduced in 2007. It allows young people to create stories, animations, games, music and art while developing 21st century skills. It is free and has a large community of users around the world. The Scratch community and its 3.3 million (and counting).

The Chicago Gifted Community Center (CGCC) is a member-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by parents to support the intellectual and emotional growth of gifted children and their families.

We  are an all volunteer-based organization that relies on annual memberships from parents, professionals, and supporters to provide organizers with web site operations, a registration system, event insurance, background checks, etc.
