Civil War Re-Enactment

To Commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation The DuSable Museum of African American History and The Amistad Commission presents, “A Sight Unlike Any Other: The Civil War and the Colored Soldier” A Civil War Re-Enactment Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

A day long family event, highlighted by two battle re-enactments celebrating the African American Soldiers who bravely fought for the freedom of their Families and themselves. The day also includes; a performance based upon the speeches of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln, horse rides for children, Museum tours, Civil War dress up booth, a screening of the film, “Glory,” and much more!
