The World's Fair of 1893 remains one of the most prominent and well-known events in the history of Chicago.  In this presentation, we will explore the highlights of the Fair that drew 27 million visitors, and how it shaped and defined the city moving forward.  The lecture will be given by Diane Dillon, director of scholarly and undergraduate programs at the Newberry Library and a frequent lecturer on Chicago's two World's Fairs.  A small exhibition of Glessner-related Fair objects will be on display.
