Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) is regarded as one of the greatest America poets. She wrote poetry of tremendous power, questioning the nature of immortality and death. Through nature and life, Emily was able to glimpse into a mystic dimension beyond worldly distractions.  She lived a mostly introverted and reclusive life.  Fewer than a dozen of her nearly 1,800 poems were published during her lifetime.  Emily's first volume was published four years after her death and she has remained continuously in print since that time.  This performance is adapted and performed by Betsey Means of WomanLore and is directed by Eileen Vorbach.  For more information on WomanLore, visit www.womanlore.com

This performance is co-sponsored by the Greater Chicago Chapter of the Victorian Society in America.
