Gifted children need a non-competitive opportunities to enjoy mathematics and to explore their mathematical interests and flex their analytical muscles. An excellent opportunity to do this is to participate in a math circle. A math circle has puzzles, activities and games that are low barrier entry - that means even children that have not been taught a lot of mathematics can do it, but, at the same time, the activities can be extended to a high level of complexity that may challenge much more experienced participants. This is why MAGE will be sponsoring a first in Chicago: an Elementary Math Circle for grades 1-4! If you are interested in this program, please email MAGE by clicking here.

Join WCGTC in Nashville for the 23rd World Conference focusing on A World of Possibilities: Gifts, Talents, & Potential. The World Conference is a great opportunity for researchers, educators, psychologists, parents, and other stakeholders to gather from around the globe to discuss the vital matters, issues, and concerns that impact the field of gifted education and gifted and talented children. The World Conference will be hosted by the WCGTC Executive Committee.

The WCGTC consists of its Members, Executive Committee, Delegates from member countries, and a Headquarters that is located at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky USA. The World Council was founded over 35 years ago and hosts a biennial World Conference at a major international city during late July or early August in odd-numbered years. Members of the WCGTC receive a discount to attend the World Conference.

CineYouth Film Challenge

The CineYouth Film Challenge invites students 13-18 years old to join our one-day film camp! Participants will have one day to make a short film with their assigned team. The finished films will go on to be screened at the CineYouth Festival Festival, April 26-28 at Chicago’s iconic Music Box Theatre.

Film Challenge teams will be assembled according to age group. No prior filmmaking experience is necessary, though basic camera knowledge and experience with editing software is welcome. Entry fee is $15. All gear and lunch will be provided.

A summer opportunity for middle schoolers: Registration is now live!

Are your middle schoolers ready to explore the great outdoors? Then it's time to join us for Shedd's Summer Road Trip, a week of excitement and exploration. We’ll use the aquarium as our home base as we set out on a new adventure every day. 

At each destination, outdoor activities and environmental investigations will open your child's mind and spark compassion, curiosity and conservation for the aquatic animal world. The week will end with an overnight stay at the aquarium!

venture beyond so-called physical
limits. Create contraptions that utilize
principles of power, force, and energy.
